Pellot Family Build

Pellot Family

Alexis Pellot is a devoted single mother to two young boys, Alexander (8) and Paris (4). She has worked as a Dialysis Technician for five years and has also served as a part-time Firefighter and EMT for the Concord Fire Department for the past two years. With plans to join the Army Reserves after moving into their new home, Alexis is committed to building a stable future for her family.

Currently, they live in a small two-bedroom apartment where her sons share a cramped space—far from ideal for two active, growing boys. Rising rent costs and slow maintenance responses have made their living situation increasingly challenging.

Alexis's connection to Habitat for Humanity runs deep—she grew up in a Habitat home and still remembers the joy and overwhelming emotions she felt when her family moved in. That experience inspired her to pursue homeownership for her own children, ensuring they have a stable and secure place to grow.

Alexis applied for Habitat’s homeownership program once before but was not accepted. Instead of giving up, she focused on improving her budgeting and spending habits, reapplied, and was thrilled to be accepted.

Throughout her journey, Alexis has embraced the sweat-equity process, working alongside volunteers and fellow partner families. She finds it especially rewarding to help others build their homes. The homeownership and financial literacy classes have also been invaluable, teaching her not just about budgeting but also about the responsibilities of homeownership—yard work, and home maintenance.

Alexis is confident in her ability to succeed as a homeowner. She looks forward to a future where her sons each have their own rooms, a yard to play in, and a home filled with love and stability. With a solid foundation in place, she envisions spending more quality time with her boys and even traveling together—creating memories in a home they can finally call their own.
